The Third National Filtration Conference focused on filtration and its effects on the performance of gas turbines, was organized by Iran Filtech in collaboration with the Thermal Power Plants Holding Company, the Niroo Research Institute, and the Isfahan Science and Technology Town, held at the Niroo Research Institute. Industry experts from the oil and gas, electricity, and energy sectors from across the country participated in this conference.
At the beginning of the conference, after playing a video introducing the Isfahan Science and Technology Town as one of the scientific hubs of the country, Dr. Jafar Gheysari, the head of the Isfahan Science and Technology Town, provided a comprehensive introduction to the goals, missions, and plans of the town. He also highlighted the town’s support for research projects.
During his presentation, Dr. Tavakoli introduced the Iran Gas Transmission Company, discussing its outlook, successes, and capabilities. He emphasized the importance of filtration in the gas transmission industry and provided an overview of the practical filters used in this critical industry. Additionally, he highlighted the initiatives taken towards indigenizing filters in this industry.
Ebrahim Mohseni, Head of Technical Inspection of Isfahan Gas Company, was one of the other speakers at the 3rd National Filtration Conference, who discussed the importance and place of filtration in the gas industry and the damages and consequences of not paying attention to filtration in this industry. He also mentioned some management and technical solutions to prevent possible problems and injuries in the country’s gas industry.
Hamid Reza Tavangar, the Head of Planning and Maintenance Methods at the Gas Transmission Company of Region 2, was another speaker at this national conference. He addressed the technical and specialized topics related to the impact of air filters on the performance of turbines.
Furthermore, Davar Rezakhani from the Niroo Research Institute introduced the Planning and Accreditation Verification Unit of Industrial Laboratories for Electricity and Energy. He emphasized the importance of establishing a network of electricity industry laboratories and managing its implementation.
Additionally, Azam Bajoghli, the Director of Inspection and Supervision for the Implementation of Electricity and Energy Standards at the Power Research Institute, introduced the Testing, Inspection, and Standardization Center of the Power Industry (known as “ABA NIROO”). They discussed the missions and visions of this center during the conference.
Mohammad Ebrahim Sarbandi Farahani, the head of the Center for the Development of Operation, Maintenance, and Repair Technologies of Power Plants at the Niroo Research Institute, discussed the factors affecting the performance of gas units during his presentation. He focused on the impact of various parameters on the efficiency of gas turbines, particularly emphasizing the role of filtration systems.
Finally, Mojtaba Saadatpour, the director of the Filtration Laboratory at the Isfahan Science and Technology Town, introduced the facilities and equipment of the laboratory and provided technical details about the standards used for testing various types of filters.
